Profile Picture of John Pepp

John Pepp is the name and today's technology is where it is at. We live in a fantastic time when it comes to technology advances, but at the same time it can be a little daunting. That is why I am designing/developing this website so one can find get comfortable with the advancements in technology.

First a little background of myself. I was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 28, 1964. I am currently living in Livonia, Michigan where I am doing the designing and developing of this website. I am using HTML5 and CSS3 writing code in PHP, Javascript, Ajax and JSON to make this a valuable resource about technology. I have been working and building computers since the early 1980s and the very first computer that I used was the family's Commodore 64 computer. I used to run a Bulletin Board Service (BBS) mainly running Wildcat Software, but I also ran PCBoard and Renegade BBS software. Though there were probably other BBS packagers that I ran, for I was always tinkering around with my BBS. I also developed small applications for those BBSes and even wrote a callback phone verifier that work pretty darn well. I ran my BBS until 1998 or 1999 then around 2000 I had what I call my "computer building" phase where I would build my own computers. I even obtained a Certification in PC Repair from Livonia Schoolcraft College, for that is how much I was into computer building. In 2009 when the economy took a major downturn I was let go from my job as a Color Matcher (Shader) and decided to change my career to Computer Graphics. In 2011 I obtained an associates degree in Computer Graphics : Interactive Media and Game Design from Schoolcraft College. The time before Internet exploding in popularity was a fun time and I highly recommend watching the TV show "Halt and Catch Fire". It will give your a little bit of history of computers and at the same time entertain you.

After obtaining my degree I took additional courses to further my education, so I took classes in motion graphics (After Effects) and Web Design (all 3 courses) from Schoolcraft College. I am also self-taught in the PHP Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language that started me down the development route. I'm highly skilled in Photoshop and After Effects that aids me in the design and development of website building. My goal for this website is to build a top website that will cover many slices of technology to get people who visit here interested in the benefits and/or pleasures of technology.

A little personal info about myself. I'm single, 52 years old and I'm into colorization of old Black & White photographs using Photoshop.
